Festival Venues

The Festival takes place in Central London Euston/Bloomsbury area in and around University College London and a bespoke Festival Tent on Torrington Square. The Box Office is at the Festival Hub aka Roberts Foyer. Below are directions to each screening room/event space which you can also locate according to number on the map. There are 12 venues on site in Euston and 6 more partner venues which require travel to other parts of London. Download maps by clicking on icon in the side bar.

1. FESTIVAL HUB (Box office, Café/Bar and live events), Roberts Foyer

Access through the main gates on Torrington Place and it’s on your left, across the street from Waterstones.

2. BLOOMSBURY THEATRE Enter on Gordon Street, the theatre is between our Festival Hub and Euston Square.

3. THE STUDIO Above the Darkroom, up the stairs from the Festival Hub.

4. THE LIGHTBOX Go through the Festival Hub – left of the main gates on Torrington Place – and the Lightbox is at the back of the Festival Hub, on your right, next to the Darkroom.

5. THE DARKROOM Go through the Festival Hub – left of the main gates on Torrington Place – and the Darkroom is at the back of the Festival Hub, on your right, next to the Lighbox.

6. CINEMA TENT Our special festival tent is back again. Across the street from the Festival Hub on Torrington Square.

7. FESTIVAL BAR Next to the CINEMA TENT, open 2pm-11pm everyday serving beer, wine, spirits and the Open City doctail Ecstatic Truth

8. SOAS: The School of Oriental & African Studies The Khalili Lecture Theatre, Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, WC1H 0XG

9. BIRKBECK CINEMA Use entrance at 43 Gordon Square, on the East side of the square, a short walk from Box office

10. ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts) The Mall, SW1Y 5AH

11. LSE (London School of Economics) Wolfson Theatre, New Academic Building (NAB) 54 Lincoln's Inn Fields, WC2A 3LJ

12. HACKNEY PICTUREHOUSE 270 Mare Street, Hackney, E8 1HE

The nearest tube stations to the main venues are Goodge Street (Northern Line) and Euston Square (Circle and Metropolitan Line) – each stop is 5 minutes walk to the festival venues.

Bus numbers 10, 24, 73, 134, 390 stop in Gower Street.
